Pismo Beach
Aaron flew to Ecuador last Monday night. He is there working with a group of pastors and also shooting a documentary with a friend. I was really sad when he left, these 10 days are feeling very long! The last few days have been fantastic though. On Thursday I took the 4 hour trip north to Pismo Beach. I was a little nervous about the drive, especially being alone and having to figure out which freeways to take. Fortunately the photographer that I work for let me borrow his GPS for my trip. This little machine is amazing, it made the drive so easy and relaxed! On Friday night we celebrated her birthday with a Hollywood party. I dressed up as Audrey Hepburn and Cindy was Brittney Spears. It was a really fun night with a lot of dancing!
On Sunday Cindy took me to some cool places in the area. We went to the pier and watched the surfers, we also went to a monarch grove and I’ve never seen anything like it. There were literally clusters of butterflies hanging off branches! We also went to the sand dunes and then we topped of the sightseeing day walking around trendy San Luis Obispo and looking at the cool shops. We relaxed and had a really mellow morning on Monday and then went to some more pretty spots in the area and then I went with Cindy to her jazz dance class. I have never taken a dance class in my life and so I had a lot of fun learning all of the moves and just going for it. My 5 day trip was so wonderful and I am really glad that I got to spend some good time with Cindy. I was also really happy to meet her friends and to get an idea of what her life looks like up in the Central Coast. They have a great YWAM up there (which is where she works) so if you get the chance, make sure to check it out!
I drove back home this morning and Aaron will be coming back on Thursday night. I can't wait! He arrives just in time for our second anniversary on Monday. I can't believe we are already on our second year, it feels so quick. We were thinking of maybe going to one of the beach cities and have a nice little getaway to celebrate. On Tuesday, (and I am very excited about this one) we are going to LA to see Rob Bell who is on his "the gods aren't angry tour." We really enjoy his books and his podcasts and so that is going to be a cool evening.
