twenty three

I had the best birthday yesterday! We drove out to Newport Beach and started with a walk down the ocean paseo. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Then we decided to explore a little and we found signs that led to a ferry so we hopped on and a few minutes later we were on Balboa Island. It was so nice! Neither of us had been there before so it was perfect! There's nothing we like more than wandering through a new place, I guess that's just the traveler in us. We grabbed a coffee and walked down main street. By the time the sun was about to set we found a nice bridge to enjoy the view. We then returned to the mainland and had a nice dinner at The Yardhouse.

What a great day! Seriously, I was so happy spending the whole day with the one I love in a gorgeous place. Anyways, it was a nice way to turn 23.

On another note, I have been reading "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. It is an amazing book. I have been meaning to read it for a while and so when I received a gift card to a book store for Christmas I knew what I wanted to use it on. If you are looking for a good read, this one is fantastic.

One month from now, we will be getting a visit from one of our dearest friends, Amanda from Toronto. She travelled with us for six months in Chile and we also went to Peru and Ecuador together. We are counting the days until she comes! Also at the end of next month my Pastor and his wife will be traveling to San Diego for a conference so we plan on driving down and going to see them.

Oh yes, and happy birthday to Audrey, my sister in law, it is her birthday today (:
